This drawing was for a condo bathroom that is in the city by the river. I wanted to include some of the shapes that were outside in the environment.
Such a sweet dog I got to draw!
A new more abstract series on cycling. More to come!

Large 3x4 ft pear!
Final pastel drawing of the sketch I posted on Aug. 5th. Such a rewarding drawing to work on!
I have been drawing poppies for years and I never get tired of their beauty! Sometimes before I start a illustration job I will do a quick drawing to get my creative juices flowing.
Our sweet boy Mingus!
These last two years have been a difficult but rewarding time, as I walk alongside my sister who has terminal metastatic breast cancer. She had it 17 years ago and it came back with a vengeance at the young age of 54. She has been fighting so hard and I am so proud of her. This new drawing is one that I also had in my mind for a while and it is about what it might feel like to go through cancer, knowing the likelihood of survival is so slim. I sat down with some pencils and started drawing quickly on tracing paper. I wonder how it must feel to loose your hair and ultimately everything, and to pray that there comes a time when you are at peace. This image is more illustrative and I can't wait to put it down on paper and add color!
I've been taking some well needed time off from illustrating to refresh and renew myself.
I need to step back and and see where my heart is at in this business, and what types of subjects give me passion such that it makes me eager to draw them.
I started off by doing a series of fruits and vegetables. Going back to my early days of fine art drawing I found myself playing with different textures , lines, shapes, patterns, and colors. It is oh-so-refreshing and fun!! I felt my soul slowly being filled again!
Then I was lead to do a self portrait that had been in mind for a while. I'm a sensitive soul and I think that is what makes my art come to life. I truly try to connect in some way with what I am drawing. I feel the passion coming back! Yay!
